The Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act (S.B. 744) – Here we go.

This is the third time within 10 years that Congress has proposed to comprehensively change the country’s immigration system. On April 16, 2013, Senator Charles Schumer of New York formally introduced Senate Bill 744 – the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act (SB 744). SB 744 is a product of the “Gang of Eight” bipartisan senators (Senators Schumer, McCain, Durbin, Graham, Menendez, Rubio, Bennet, and Flake) who had been negotiating for a comprehensive immigration reform bill after the 2012 fall election.
