Immigration Law in 2014 – In 2013, we started the year with the hope and anticipation of the passage of a comprehensive immigration reform and ended the year without none. Now it is 2014, and in a year of election, there is basically no hope or anticipation of passage of a comprehensive reform. There is at least a realization in the Democratic Party that comprehensive immigration reform would not pass, but a reasonable approach toward immigration reform is a piece-meal legislation. Although the House of Representative has not brought any immigration bill to the floor for a vote or to go to conference with Senate Bill 744, we have seen individual states beginning to raise their own immigration reform and policies.
