I-864 Affidavit of Support
Effective October 6, 2015, USCIS and the Department of State require that all intending immigrants (except for a very few exceptions) who are subject to the requirement of the affidavit of support (Form I-864 and I-864A) to overcome the public charge provision, to use its newly revised forms. Even though the standard and obligations under the affidavit of support have not change, the new forms do require certification from the preparer and interpreter for the forms.
