Vào ngày 28 tháng 3, tôi đã được hân hạnh cùng một số các Luật Sư từ đông nam châu á và các luật sư thành viên của nhóm hội hiệp luật sư di trú Hoa Kỳ AILA ( American Immigration Lawyers Association) tham dự buổi họp với người đại diện của Tổng Lãnh Sự quán Hoa Kỳ tại Sài Gòn . Sau buổi họp, chúng tôi có cơ hội đặt các câu hỏi và đề cập đến những điều chúng tôi quan tâm với nhân viên tổng trưởng của lãnh sự quán tại văn phòng USCIS cũ trong khu Diamond Plaza. 1 chuyến đi thật đáng nhớ, và rất cám ơn Tòa Lãnh Sự quán Hoa Kỳ đã mở cửa và tạo cơ hội cho chúng tôi đặt câu hỏi và biết được nhiều thong tin để có thể giúp đỡ các thân chủ và cộng đồng. U.S. Consulate in Saigon
On March 28, 2013, I had the privilege along with other lawyers from Southeast Asia and members of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) to attend an open house with representatives of the U.S. Consulate in Saigon. After the open house, we had the great opportunity to ask questions and to address concerns that we have with the section chiefs at the old USCIS office on Diamond Plaza in Saigon. It was quite a memorable trip, and we gave a huge thank you to the U.S. Consulate for opening its doors and providing us the opportunity to ask questions and to get information that we know will benefit our clients and the general public. Giữ quyền thường trú nhân khi du lịch nước ngoài thường xuyên
Nhiều thân chủ của văn phòng gặp trở ngại trong việc trở thành thường trú nhân Hoa Kỳ thông qua thủ tục xin Visa tại Đại Sứ Quán của nước sở tại, hoặc xin chuyển tình trạng di trú tại Hoa Kỳ. Những thân chủ này cho rằng việc giữ tình trạng thường trú nhân cũng phức tạp và khó khăn không kém. Văn phòng chúng tôi từ lâu đã luôn quan tâm đến việc đảm bảo cho thân chủ thực hiện đầy đủ các bước để giữ quyền thường trú nhân khi họ du lịch nước ngoài thường xuyên.

Preserving Permanent Resident Status When Traveling Frequently Abroad
Many of our clients have experienced the arduous task of becoming legal permanent residents of the United States through immigrant visa processing through the U.S. Embassies in their home countries, or obtaining adjustment of status in the United States. These clients then they realize that it is also just as difficult and burdensome to maintain their lawful permanent resident status. It has been a long-standing concern for our office to ensure that our clients take the necessary steps to preserve their legal permanent residency status when they frequently travel abroad.

Update on Immigration News
As anticipated, on January 28, 2013, a bipartisan group of eight (8) senators (Senators Schumer, McCain, Durbin, Graham, Menendez, Rubio, Bennet and Flake) laid out the legislative framework of comprehensive immigration reform. The framework consists of four basic pillars:
1. Create a tough but fair path to citizenship for unauthorized immigrants currently living in the United States that is contingent upon securing our borders and tracking whether legal immigrants have left the country when required;
